Lake Shasta Caverns
Lake Shasta Caverns National Natural Landmark is one of three known caverns in Shasta County. Our beds originated 250 million years ago when the earth was subjected to the folding of its crust. On this geological adventure through Lake Shasta Caverns you'll have the opportunity to explore the lake on a 65 foot catamaran, where your captain will act as a guide and inform you about the geography, formation, and natural beauty of the caverns. The Lake Shasta Dinner Cruises include a buffet style menu that varies from season to season.
Cavern Tours

The beautiful caverns are surrounded by crystal and calcite formations that are nearly 250 million years old. The tour begins with a ride across the Shasta Lake on a catamaran and will arrive on the east shore just below the limestone North Gray Rocks. The tour continues with a comfortable ride in our custom buses up the hill to the cavern entrance where you'll be able to spot many animals along the way such as the bald eagle, bobcat, osprey, mountain lion, black bear, or black-tailed deer. At the cavern entrance, your tour guide will explain the discovery of the caverns and how they came to be.

The Dinner Cruise dining menu will vary from season to season.
Reviews

I've been several times and it never gets old. Love to take visitors from out of town. Great for people of all ages. A fun way to escape the weather and see some unique sights. The tour guides are always delightful, witty, and knowledgeable about local wildlife, rock formations, and local history.

We enjoyed a relaxing boat ride and shuttle ride to see underground beauty. The rock formations are interesting and beautiful. The tour guides are very good in sharing information of what we see. This place is worth the money and worth visiting. We also enjoyed the hike. Just be ready to go up and down the narrow stairs and stay hydrated. We have lots of fun. Place is well maintained with friendly staff and enough parking. Backpacks not allowed.
